Copyright

The works that can be protected by copyright is classified as either software or other.

Noteworthy about software is that China’s view on software and IPR changed in 2006. Before that software could not be protected at all but in 2006 that changed. If software solves a problem with hardware or improve hardware the software is patentable as an invention. The source code however can only be protected by copyright.
